"It was a long time (between the incident and the FA statement)", said Klopp.
Asked if there was any truth to the rumours, Klopp told reporters at Friday's press conference: "That we want to keep the players together is not a secret". We were of course in talks with him, we spoke to him and we were all pretty sure.
"It is a very important subject". That is how it is.
Obviously not one to rest on his laurels, Klopp has focused intensely on the tremendous task before the squad. All the others are flying so you have to fly as well. [West Ham] always have opportunities with counter-attacks and set-pieces to score for themselves. We play United in two weeks so I needed to watch that and we could play Sevilla again if we go through. "[They are] very decisive as well".
"We scored four goals and created so many chances".
'In football it's all about doing the right thing in the right moment. If only one player is flexible and fluent, it doesn't help.
"We need to be ready for a hard game". It was a nice goal. "It shows you need to do it".
Jurgen Klopp is "proud" of the way Roberto Firmino dealt with allegations of racism made by Everton's Mason Holgate, and says he never had any doubts over the forward's conduct.
"A few European teams who might not have taken Liverpool seriously will have seen that result, going over there and giving them one of their biggest defeats ever in Europe".
