Pep Guardiola: There's no one like David Silva

"When we go to Abu Dhabi he will stay in Spain but hopefully the situation can get resolved as soon as possible and his boy can grow day by day".

Sergio Aguero is set to miss Manchester City's Premier League fixture against relegation-threatened Stoke on Monday, after sustaining a knee injury in training.

When asked about the interest previously, Fed replied, "A friend gave me the news saying that City and Guardiola were interested in me.I'm happy to be so well known in Europe".

City have seen a truly extraordinary turnover and a massive increase in revenue streams since Sheikh Mansour took up the reins back in 2008, and are now the team with the fourth-biggest income in world football.

City would understandably be eager to tie down the 47-year-old as he looks to guide the Premier League leaders to a hat-trick of trophies this season.

He said: "Pep is the coach that best represents that style and the kind of football we are looking for at our club, and we have players with capacity and level, such as Aguero and De Bruyne, among others, who can carry that idea forward".

When speaking on Silva's technical ability and what he has meant to the Club, Guardiola had this to say: "He's been one of the best players in the past decade and he's so good". He's a huge competitor. He is shy, he doesn't speak too much but on the pitch when the moment is there and the game is on he is the guy who never hides in tough conditions when the game is not going well. "The most important thing after six months out is to be careful", Guardiola said. Fernandinho and Sterling are expected to return to action.

Raheem Sterling and Fernandinho could both return from hamstring injuries, while Fabian Delph is also in contention to feature at bet365 Stadium. "Even if he believes he is strong, he is not strong enough", the City boss said. Silva was man of the match in his last outing against Chelsea; his form has held up remarkably well whenever he has played in the last couple of months.

"I don't like to play on Monday because the weekend, everybody is involved, and when the weekend is over, they are like "the weekend is over", there are no more games, but we have to play". The knee is going well, so maybe we can start to think about giving him the first 20 minutes in a game.
