Hearthstone kicks off the Year of the Raven with The Witchwood expansion

RUSH YOUR FOES - When played, minions with the new Rush keyword can attack other minions immediately, but can't attack the enemy Hero until the following turn.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure those Hearthstone guys in the video are actually perfectly OK, so you can stop worrying about them and have a look at the first of the new cards down below. Whether players prefer to wield magic or arms in battle, strike from the shadows or head on-or have never given any of that much thought-they'll be able to jump right in, create a deck, and get in on the card-slinging action.

Curious players can keep up with the now announced cards here.

Today, Blizzard announced the newest expansion for Hearthstone: The Witchwood.

The Echo keyword, when shown in a card allows you to add a spectral copy of this card to your hand until the end of your turn, which can be played any number of times if you have the mana for it.

The "Start of Game" mechanic, as the revealed cards indicate, will be activated based to the mana cost of the cards in your deck (whether they are all odd or even numbered) and if the terms are met a specific effect will be activated.

It sounds like Witchwood could be the most intriguing addition to the Hearthstone world to date, especially with the new mode and the stack of new cards coming our way.

If that news wasn't enough to wet your whistle, Blizzard have also revealed that a new single-player experience is on the way.

Last but not least, Monster Hunt will be a new version of the Dungeon Run, featuring 4 unique heroes to play as.

The leaders of Gilneas are finalizing preparations for these expeditions, and will share more details in the weeks to come.

In The Witchwood's exhilarating single-player mode, Monster Hunt, Gilneas' greatest heroes are called to cleanse the forest of this darkness. Blizzard has released a wacky Blair Witch-inspired trailer for The Witchwood, which includes an introduction to six of the new cards (Azalina Soulthief, Genn Greymane, Baku the Mooneater, Phantom Militia, Pumpkin Peasant, and Militia Commander).

"Echo cards can be played multiple times on the turn you play them". Players can pre-purchase a special Witchwood 50-pack card bundle, which comes with 20 bonus packs and the "In the Dark Wood" card, for free.

There will be four new heroes, each with their own hero power. This one-time-only bundle is available on any platform for $49.99 (one purchase per account).
