Joy Behar to apologize to Christians about Pence joke

The spat dates back to last month, when Behar and her co-hosts were discussing comments that former West Wing staffer Omarosa Manigault Newman had made on "Celebrity Big Brother". "She called me. She was very honest, and she apologized and one of the things my faith teaches me is grace; forgive as you've been forgiven". "It's another thing when Jesus talks to you", added Behar. Behar made a joke implying that Pence was mentally ill for saying he communicated with Jesus.

Pence took offence to Behar's comments but has since forgiven the morning talk show host after she called him to personally apologize.

He said Behar owes an apology to them on her show. "She made a call to him and apologized, which I thought was absolutely appropriate". "She called me", Pence told Fox News host Sean Hannity in an interview set to air Monday night on the network.

ABC News star Joy Behar apologized to mocking Vice President Mike Pence's Christian faith. I don't mean to offend people but apparently I keep doing it. "It is simply wrong for ABC to have a television program that expresses that kind of religious intolerance".

"I said to Joy, of course I forgive you, it's part of my faith experience", he continued.

Behar's call to Pence was undisclosed until Disney CEO Bob Iger was asked about the controversy during last week's meeting with investors.

MRC President Brent Bozell issued a statement declaring that Behar's private apology was "not almost enough" and promised to continue his campaign against "anti-Christian bigotry" at the network. "He encouraged her to make the same apology publicly on the show that she did privately to him".

"So does mine, but I'm not as good at it as you", Hannity remarked.

McCain added that she has sometimes felt that "liberals say, "We need to be tolerant of everyone" except prolifers, except Trump supporters, except gun owners, except for everyone in the red in the middle of the country".
