Packers sign Jimmy Graham

After being rumored to several teams, the Jimmy Graham sweepstakes seemed to be down to just two teams, the Green Bay Packers, and his former team, the New Orleans Saints.

Teams can now contact the representation of pending free agents.

The tag for tight ends will run teams around $10 million this year, but Graham was already making that.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, was quick to point out a new era in Green Bay has begun with their interest in Graham.

We could find out the victor of the Grahamstakes later this week. He caught 57 passes for 520 yards - the second and third worst totals of his career, respectively.

While the Packers had been mentioned as a possible suitor for Graham, there had been a growing thought in the last day or so that he would return to his old home in New Orleans. Nonetheless, Graham leaves Seattle holding the single-season franchise records by a tight end in receptions (65), yards (923), and touchdowns (10). That's what Green Bay hoped it would get a year ago when it added Martellus Bennett on a three-year deal.

Jimmy Graham scored 18 touchdowns in the three years since the Seahawks traded for him. But the tight end played just seven games before he was released due to concerns about a shoulder injury the Packers say he didn't disclose.
