Eagles will reportedly sign veteran DT Haloti Ngata

Ngata is a five-time Pro-Bowler and adds even more depth to an already risky Eagles defensive line. Douglas served as a scout in Baltimore from 2000 to 2015.

The Eagles' defensive line continues to improve and look more menacing as the team looks to defend their Super Bowl championship. Though 34 and coming off a biceps injury that landed him on the injured reserve list early last season, Ngata (6-4, 335) is a proven run stopper with 31.5 sacks in a career that began in 2006. He will now join another veteran defensive lineman with a ring in Michael Bennett, whom the Eagles recently acquired in a trade from the Seattle Seahawks. As Dave Zangaro pointed out, Ngata's impact when playing for Detroit last season versus when he wasn't was stark. In those five games, Ngata recorded seven tackles and two sacks.

In January, Ngata told 97.1 FM in Detroit that he wanted to play in 2018. "I want to be able to raise my kids and be able to play with them when they are older and still be able to beat them in wrestling matches and stuff when they are teenagers", Ngata said in 2017.

Ngata was selected to five straight Pro Bowls from 2009-2013 and was a back-to-back All-Pro performer in 2010 and 2011. He also has 27 career pass breakups.
