Mohammed Shami's wife lost her temper and allegedly misbehaved with the reporters

Kolkata: Withdrawing the charges levelled against cricketer Mohammad Shami may not be possible for his wife, Hasin Jahan, lawyers said on Wednesday.

Indian speedster denied match-fixing allegations and stressed his wife is not mentally stable following a series of accusations she slapped on him. It has come to light that Hasin was married earlier too, and now her first husband Sheikh Saifuddin has broken his silence on the entire incident.

The cricketer has been charged under various non-bailable and bailable sections of the IPC, including Section 498A, which deals with cruelty to a woman by her husband or his relatives, Section 307 - attempt to murder, Section 323 - punishment for voluntarily causing hurt, Section 376 - rape, Section 506 - criminal intimidation, Section 328 and Section 34.

Kolkata Police is now looking into various criminal charges filed by Jahan against India fast bowler Shami and his family, including attempt to murder.

Mohammed Shami and wife Hasin Jahan's saga is turning ugly face. Hasin also shared names, photographs and phone numbers on social media of women with whom Shami allegedly had extra-marital relationships.

"Our fight has reached a stage that theres no question of a compromise now". I don't want to give an explanation about it and I want it to be investigated thoroughly. "She has struggled a lot, too, so I hope she will understand my situation", Hasin said. And why should I?

"But she is the one who wrote everything about Shami on Facebook, she is the one who attracted all this attention towards her".

"Shami called me today saying Arent you ashamed of yourself?"

The COA has asked the anti-corruption body to just focus on the investigation of only these aspects of the allegations levelled by Hasin Jahan.

Jahan has also filed a police complaint against the pacer alleging infidelity and domestic violence, resulting in BCCI withholding Shami's central contract.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, Jahan's counsel Zakir Hussain said that she will record a confidential statement in the court of the additional chief judicial magistrate in Alipore on March 19.
