Ramzan's two daughters were injured and rushed to the hospital.

Five civilians, including four members of a family, were killed as shells fired by Pakistan Army landed near a house at Mendhar, Poonch in Jammu on Sunday morning.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani troops have also breached border ceasefire in Rajouri sector and are targeting army positions and civilian areas with gunfire and mortar shells.

Jammu and Kashmir SDP SP Vaid in a tweet said: "Due to shelling from across in Balakote sector of Poonch, five civilians lost their lives".

Defence spokesman said the Pakistani troops breached border ceasefire in Balakote sector at around 7.45 am. The dead include the house owner, a woman, a boy and a minor girl, reports added.

"In village Devta 5 people died, 2 injured. My deepest condolences to their family", she said.

Earlier last month, the Opposition had slammed the government over the increase in ceasefire violations at the India-Pakistan border. Since the third week of January, 26 persons, including 12 security personnel and 14 civilians, have been killed in Pakistani ceasefire violations along the LoC and the IB in Jammu.

"The Pakistan Army resorted to indiscriminate shelling in Balakote sector of the LoC". "India is violating ceasefire agreement time and again on the Line of Control and the Working Boundary".
