A 13-year-old boy alleged committed suicide by hanging himself in his house at Ghoti village of Igatpuri taluka of this district. The Ghoti police has registered a case of accidental death and further investigation is on. Fifteen-year-old, Ikisha Raghav Shah's family has filed a case against two of her teachers.
On Tuesday the teenager was alone at her home because her parents had gone out. The parents claim that she had even stopped going to the school for this reason. "She was rushed to Kailash Hospital where she was declared dead", a police officer said, adding that no suicide note was found at the spot. Also, the official said, "Constable Nirpender Singh has been suspended for dereliction of duty by SP city as he failed to include sections of sexual harassment in the FIR". When the parents returned in the evening at around 6 pm, they found the girl's room locked from inside. She was reportedly an exceptional dancer. "It may have been a mistake but she said, she's scared of them and no matter how well she writes, they'll fail her, ' said the devastated father".
A doctor of Kailash Hospital, where the girl was taken after she was found hanging, said "15-year-old girl was brought to us, on arrival her pulse and blood pressure were un-recordable, we tried to revive her but couldn't".
The doctors, although, did not determine her cause of death.
Police have booked the school's principal and the two teachers on charges of abetting suicide, Hindustan Times reported.
Meanwhile, the body has been sent for post-mortem and the reports are awaited. The unbearable pressure put by school and parents often lead the children to take such drastic step.
