High drama was witnessed in the Central Hall of Parliament as well as in the Rajya Sabha yesterday when Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MPs protested for the status to Andhra Pradesh. The pictures of the TDP members inside the Speaker's chambers have gone viral on social media. TDP MPs who went to Speaker's office learnt that the Speaker Sumitra was not there and she had already left by then. Once outside the gate, the MPs carried on their protests for over another hour.

Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu is reported to have told party MPs on Friday morning to heighten their efforts to ensure that the matter was taken up in the Parliament. I am asking the Centre for only one thing-fulfill all the promises made in Parliament and reorganisation act.

On March 16, the Andhra ruling party reached a deadlock with BJP-ruled Centre over its demand of special status to the state and ultimately quit the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) coalition at the Centre.

Participating in a bicycle rally from Venkatapalem village in Thullur mandal of Guntur district to the Assembly on Friday as part of the Statewide stir for special status, Mr. Naidu said his party MPs waged a "relentless battle" against the Centre, and vowed to keep the fight going till the goal was achieved.

"This is not only a great injustice to the people of Andhra Pradesh but also an insult". So the feeling of the BJP is that the YSR Congress in an alternative. These MPs, mired in a CBI case, are in the court every Friday. Then why are they not giving it to us? "The BJP must also remember that", he said.
