Today during a panel at PAX East, Square-Enix revealed they not only have at least two updates coming to FFXV in 2018, but there are four more story expansions coming in 2019. The concept for the new content is to realize "a future everyone longed for".
Episode I: Ardyn "The Conflict of the Sage" (Working Title) (Winter 2019) - This story portrays the struggles of Ardyn. A Final Fantasy XV roadmap has been unveiled, showing off four brand-new DLC episodes to go along with the current three from 2017, as well as an alternate ending to Noctis' quest.
While described as more of a side story and not an episode, the character at the focus of the second planned DLC release is Aranea Highwind. The Starscourage disease will be delved into, and the final days of the Empire will be emulated to depict one of Aranea's worst days.
Episode 2, Lunafreya, is subtitled "The Choice of Freedom" and bears this description: "This story's about Luna's fate, which not even death can free her from".
Some of the new features coming to Final Fantasy XV also revealed includes the aforementioned character customization that will allow players to make a character they choose rather than the default Noctis, the abilities to see the "ghost" of other custom toons, drop-able equipment for other players, and tons of mod support. While she battles with the intention of saving the ones she loves, her path muddies the destiny presupposed by the Lucian King. Other than news of the collaboration, no other details were announced.
Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition is now available for Xbox One and PS4.
Episode III: Noctis - "The Final Strike" Parting ways with the Astrals, Noctis embarks upon his final battle in order to attain the ideal future for all his people.
