Donovan Mitchell To Play in Game 2 After Toe Injury

Mitchell left the game briefly after Corey Brewer awkwardly stepped on his left foot, but the rookie was able to finish out Sunday's contest. After about a minute he was subbed off again as he was visibly in pain as he ran back on defense after burying a jumper.

"I feel fine. I just stubbed my toe, nothing major", he told reporters postgame.

"I was just limping, and they saw me limping and thought I needed to come out", Mitchell said, "but I was just being a baby".

Mitchell finished with 27 points and 10 rebounds in his playoff debut, a 116-108 Thunder win.

As soon as it became official that the Utah Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder would be battling one another in the first round of the 2018 NBA Playoffs, Jazz fans knew their team was in for a tough series. "And then he went back. So I'm excited to get this thing going".

With that said, there is positive news on the injury front, with all indications pointing to a minor ailment on his left foot and a positive prognosis when it comes to an all-important Game 2.

George says this is the level at which he plans to hoop for the remainder of the playoffs.

It was his first playoff game with the Thunder since being acquired in a trade with the in in the offseason.
