Federation Internationale de Football Association task force arrives to inspect 2026 candidate Morocco


Soccer Laduma can reveal that Morocco have turned to South African Football Association President Dr Jordaan in an effort to bolster their bid to host the 2026 World Cup.

Morocco, which is making its fifth bid to host a World Cup football tournament, has as rival the joint bid of the US, Mexico and Canada.

Morocco's bid committee said in an statement that the task-force will visit with stadiums as well as several towns involving April 1719, training peaks and buff sites, along with venues.

Morocco's bid plays heavily on the country's passion for football and its fan culture, on its relatively compact size, its proximity to Europe and climate.

The North African nation is set to send members of its 2026 World Cup bid delegation to South Africa in order to engage with the SAFA President on measures of how to further strengthen their bid to host the global spectacle.

Although diplomatic relations between the two African countries, namely South Africa and the Kingdom of Morocco, have slipped into a gradual process of deterioration throughout the years, Pretoria promised Morocco "unqualified support" in its bid to organize the tournament.
