Superstar Rajinikanth's Kaala is one of the highly-anticipated films this season. But later due to TFPC strike and protest, the film release was postponed to June 7. However, the 48-day long strike in the Tamil film industry forced the Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council to come up with a new release chart, and as per this, Kaala is now slotted for a June 7 release.
In a two-minute teaser released earlier, veteran actor Nana Patekar asking what kind of a name Kaala was, with a voiceover in the next scene saying it means not only the colour black, but also someone who fights and defends.
The film has a bevy of stars in the cast including Samuthirakani, Eswari Rao, Huma Qureshi, Anjali Patil, Sukanya, Aravind Akash and Sayaji Shinde. The music for the film was composed by Santhosh Narayanan who already composed for Pa.Ranjith and Rajinikanth combo in Kabali movie.
The plagiarism case against Kaala was also squashed by the Madras High Court, and the path for the film's release is now finally clear. The Karthik Subbaraj directorial Mercury, starring Prabhudheva, Sananth Reddy, Indhuja, Deepak Paramesh, Shashank Purushotham, Anish Padmanabhan and Gajaraj, was the first film to hit the screens after the strike.
