Google on Monday officially launched the stable version of its embedded operating system platform Android Things, having announced that Android Things 1.0 is now available for download and use.

If we were a betting website (which we're not) we'd bet that the JBL Link Bar is likely to take center stage - alongside a number of other new audio devices - at the May 8 event.

A new version of Android an provide users with interface consistency across devices and gives partners an app distribution standard. Hopefully, this I/O will be marked as the launch of this feature. So to enhance the messaging experience on Android Auto, the platform will begin supporting both group messages as well as RCS. It also brought some much-needed improvements in the product such as prolonged battery life and a dark mode.
