During today's performance, the entire head of the dragon caught on fire in the Liberty Square section of the parade, but was fully extinguished.
- A float of a dragon, representing Disney's "Maleficent", caught fire during the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade at the Magic Kingdom Friday. There were no injuries to employees or visitors, she said.
A dragon float was supposed to be breathing fire, but the dragon's head ended up engulfed in flames.
"It's all kicking off at the Magic Kingdom!"
The dragon is a regular features the theme park, occasionally rearing its head and blowing smoke and fire into the air.
Viewers sent in video to News Channel 8 showing the flames.
The dragon was created to bob its head, while blowing smoke and fire in the air, but the flames engulfed it.
The Disney World spokesperson said that an investigation into the incident has been opened and are probing what caused the fire. A Disney worker is inside its neck and the float is surrounded by costumed staff.
