Pacific blue and Californian sunshine feature as Meghan's Coat of Arms revealed

The 36-year-old actress and Prince Harry Wednesday on May 19 in a fairy tale-like event that captivated the world.

But what with all the drama surrounding Meghan's dad, Thomas Markle, in the run-up to the royal wedding, the palace powers that be opted to give the symbol directly to Prince Harry's wife.

Meghan Markle was born in Los Angeles on August 4, 1981 and attended Hollywood's Immaculate Heart High School before studying at Northwestern University and launching her film career.

The shield's right-hand side has two golden stripes on a blue background - representing California's famous sunny climate and the Pacific Ocean.

Beneath the shield is California's state flower - the golden poppy - and Wintersweet, a flower that grows at Kensington Palace and was also depicted on the duchess' wedding veil.

"The three quills represent communication and the power of words", the statement added.

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex (formerly Meghan Markle) worked with the College of Arms to create a design that was "both personal and representative, "according to the palace".

Queen Elizabeth II and Thomas Woodcock, the Garter King of Arms and Senior Herald, approved the new coat of arms.

Meghan has also been assigned her own Coronet composed of two crosses patée, four fleurs-de-lys and two strawberry leaves.

So, the lion on the left side of the shield symbolizes Harry while the songbird on the right symbolizes Meghan.

But for her first few months in the Royal Family, Meghan will be guided by a long-time palace adviser. People said the design will likely be unveiled in a couple years.

Meghan and Harry married at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle on May 19. As per other reports, some others are also using this money to raise charity for the underprivileged.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's coat of arms combined the shields of Prince William and the Middleton family.
