Family has son dressed in Kyrie Irving jersey playing NBA2K at funeral

Renard Matthews was killed two weeks ago at the age of 18, a very young age for someone to die that his family is still in shock over.

In photos, Matthews is seen sitting upright in a chair while wearing a Kyrie Irving Celtics jersey and playing video games with a controller in his hand. His wake was on Sunday afternoon and Matthews' family chose to prepare his body in a way that will allow them to remember him the way he lived his life.

Temeka, the mother to Matthews, revealed during an interview with a local news station WGNO, that her late son was a football and basketball fan - his favourite athlete was Celtics guard Kyrie Irving.

At the Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home in Treme, his family showed the world the things Matthews love the most.

The teen was shot in the head in the Florida neighborhood of New Orleans on June 26, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Police have not arrested a suspect. Matthews is set to be buried on Tuesday.
