George Clooney Released From Hospital After Scooter Accident in Italy

George Clooney's scooter was hit by a vehicle while riding around Sardinia, an Italian island.

According to a report from TMZ, Clooney became a human projectile and flew 20 feet in the air and over the auto he hit.

NBC news tweeted: "Sardinia hospital in Olbia tells NBCNews George Clooney has already been discharged following collision between the scooter he was travelling on and a auto".

A local paper said the star's injuries were not serious, but that he was taken to the emergency room. A representative said the actor hadn't been seriously injured and that he is now recovering at home after being discharged from hospital.

Clooney is a Northern Kentucky native.

The crash reportedly went down just after 8:00 a.m. - local time - when a auto cut across the path George was taking on the road. A photo from the scene shows the car's smashed windshield. He is recovering at home and will be fine, ' one rep told E!

It is understood he was rushed to Saint John II Hospital in Olbia with minor injuries but has since been discharged from ER.

George might be the last person you want to hit with your auto.

Immediately after the crash, Clooney was transported to a nearby hospital.

Clooney is now filming TV drama Catch-22 on the Italian island. Clooney was reported treated at Palisades Medical Center in North Bergen, at the time of the incident.
