Amazon's website crashes right as its Prime Day began

For those still looking to score some deals as Prime Day continues, "GMA" has a roundup of everything you need to know to score the biggest bargains.

At the time of writing, the below are pending prime day deals yet to be activated - Amazon Prime Day kicks off at 3pm EST. "Something went wrong on our end".

To make matters worse, some users can't even see the main Amazon Prime sale page - instead, they're redirected to an error page, typically one that links users to a page about the various dogs of Amazon.

Amazon Prime Day, which lasts for 36 hours, is occurring in the U.S. and several European countries including Spain, Germany, France, and the UK.

Amazon said it signed up more new Prime members on July 16 than any on previous day in the company's history.

A report last week by Coresight Research projected that Amazon Prime Day 2018 would generate global sales of $3.4 billion, up 42% from $2.4 billion in 2017.

"This is supposed to be one of their biggest days of the year", she wrote in an email.

"I'm sure they are working furiously and many heads are rolling", she said. Amazon is hoping its deals, available only to Prime members, are a hit with customers as it's raising the price of the program. Add items to your shopping list at the app to get notified when the Prime Day deals begin.

Amazon Prime Day was established in 2015 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Amazon.

Two companies acquired by Amazon also saw big Prime Day sales: Ring, the video doorbell maker, had its biggest day ever on Amazon on Monday, as its Video Doorbell Pro sold out; and savings by Prime Members at Whole Foods Market reached into the millions of dollars, the company said.

Remember, these deals are exclusive to Amazon Prime members. This year, the e-tailer said a record number of Prime members shopped in 17 countries, including for the first time members in Australia, Singapore, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.

To the uninitiated, Prime Day is Amazon's summery version of Black Friday, giving its members massive discounts on just about everything. Chains like Macy's, Nordstrom, Best Buy, Walmart and Target to roll out their own promotions, said Charlie O'Shea, lead retail analyst at Moody's.
