Taylor Swift in all-star film version of 'Cats'

Swift has the least big screen experience, but she appeared alongside Hollywood legends Meryl Streep, Jeff Bridges and Katie Holmes in 2014's "The Giver" as Rosemary. The screenplay by Lee Hall ("Billy Elliot") is based on Lloyd Webber's musical, which was itself adapted from a book of children's poems by T.S. Eliot.

A "Cats" movie adaptation is in the works - and it's going to star none other than cat lover herself, Taylor Swift!

Cats the musical is Broadway's fourth longest-running musical and the West End's sixth longest-running musical.

Cameron, in addition to hosting The Late Late Show and all the musical sketches that entails, has a background in theater and costarred in the Into the Woods movie with Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt.

Britain's Tom Hooper, whose past credits include Oscar best picture "The King's Speech" and musical "Les Miserables", will direct the movie, which is due to begin shooting in Britain in November, Variety said. What we do know is that a couple of the film's stars are very famously connected to cats.

Jennifer - who won an Oscar in 2007 for her breakout role in "Dreamgirls" - is set to take on the prominent role of Grizabella, also known as "The Glamour Cat", and will be lending her powerhouse vocals of the musical's standard Memory.

And what can we say about McKellen? One by one they tell their stories for the amusement of Old Deuteronomy, their wise and benevolent leader, who must choose one of the Cats to ascend to The Heaviside Layer and be reborn into a whole new Jellicle life. Universal declined to comment on Friday's reports.
