Angelina Jolie accuses Brad Pitt of failing to pay 'meaningful' child support

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been separated since 2016, but it looks like their "amicable" split is heating up.

Angelina Jolie, 43, made a shocking claim in court papers filed on August 7 that ex Brad Pitt, 54, hasn't paid any child support towards their six children in over a year and a half.

"Given the informal arrangements around the payment of the children's expenses have not been regularly sustained by [Pitt] for over a year and a half, [Jolie] intends to file an RFO [a request for a court order] for the establishment of a retroactive child support order", the filing read. In the child custody hearing in June, the judge did not directly address Pitt's worth in relation to the child support he is allegedly supposed to pay 'informally'.

Meanwhile, another source told HollywoodLife that Jolie keeps "changing the rules" despite Pitt doing his best to be responsible for his family.

"Brad has fulfilled his financial commitments, so it's unfortunate that anyone would misrepresent the situation and continue to play this out in the press", a friend of Pitt told ABC News.

Jolie, who underwent a double mastectomy and got her ovaries removed in 2013 to prevent an aggressive form of cancer that killed her mother, grandmother and aunt, also told Vanity Fair that she had developed Bell's palsy.

The documents did not clarify how much is considered "meaningful child support".

Sources close to Pitt told Page Six that Jolie made the court filing as part of a smear campaign to tarnish her estranged husband's reputation after he chose to re-start the formal divorce process. The problem is, every single time their attorneys have tried to hash out the terms for child support, just as they're about to reach an agreement, Angelina has suddenly changed the goalpost. The actor was later cleared of all charges, while Jolie still retains full custody of their children.

Pitt and Jolie have three sons and three daughters, ages 17 and under.

When asked how Jolie was coping (as seen in the video above), she said, "My focus is my children, our children, and my focus is finding this way through".
