Woman helps man short on cash, discovers he’s Keith Urban

A New Jersey woman helped a stranger short on cash only to learn it was country music star Keith Urban, according to CBS Philly.

Ruth Reed, a retired elementary school teacher, was at Medford's Wawa convenience store on Friday when she noticed a man trying to pay for his items and thought he might be in need. The customer, a substitute teacher named Ruth Reed, looks thrilled to have the star's arm slung around her shoulders in the photo that was posted in the Medford 08055 Facebook group.

The singer thanked Reed and said his name was Keith, prompting Reed to comment on his resemblance to Keith Urban. When she remarked that he looked like Keith Urban, he said that he actually was the famed country music performer. She turned to his bodyguard who confirmed that he was indeed Keith Urban.

She says, "It was then I realised what an idiot I was".

Reed still wasn't sure even after Urban said he was there with his sister.

"It looked like he was using a card and it didn't go through and then he asked a young lady for 5 dollars and I thought this is it so I said 'No I'll get it'". "I didn't believe him".

Reed said she hopes the story inspires others to do good deeds for one another. "I said, 'OK, I don't think she would lie to some old lady'".

"And he really could have said 'Lady get away from me, ' and he didn't, he was very kind". "Being at the right place at the right time and too stupid to recognize Keith Urban when you see him".
