It remains to be seen how quickly AC Milan will seal the deal.
Though Chelsea can not sign any new players after Thursday, there is another week before the window closes for Serie A clubs, so Bakayoko's future does not have to be agreed this week. With Jorginho joining the Stamford Bridge outfit from Napoli and Mateo Kovacic linked with a loan move from Real Madrid, the France worldwide may slip further down the pecking order.
And Sarri has deemed Bakayoko surplus to requirements for this season at least with Matteo Kovacic having joined on loan from Real Madrid on deadline day to add to his options.
The 23-year-old joined the London club last year for £40m from Monaco and made 25 Premier League starts in a turbulent debut season where he struggled to establish himself as Kante's partner in midfield. Yet he was not able to satisfy the Chelsea bosses of his reliability as he had a dodgy first season.
Chelsea were recently beaten in the Community Shield by Manchester City but Tiemoue Bakayoko failed to make it to the first team for the clash.
With Milan leading the race for Bakayoko, Everton's interest appears to be dependent on whether or not they land Zouma. Crystal Palace had hoped to take the player on loan again for the new season but Chelsea were keen to retain him. However, at AC Milan he could get regular football and possibly shine for his style of play.
