Rodgers carted to locker room vs. Bears after knee injury

Suffice to say, allowing a 39-yard touchdown to formerly undrafted Geronimo Allison, the Packers' first touchdown Sunday night, and whiffing on the pick fall well below them.

The Green Bay Packers are a championship-contending team with Aaron Rodgers on the field.

Bears pass rusher Khalil Mack, not Rodgers, was the best player on the field in the first half.

The Bears all but shut down new tight end Jimmy Graham, who caught two of four targets for only eight yards.

Rodgers was playing behind his starting offensive line Sunday night, and it was the first time all throughout training camp that all five starters had lined up alongside each other.

But a few minutes after Rodgers was announced as "questionable" to return with a knee injury during halftime, he made his way out of the locker room to an optimistic roar from a nervy crowd at Lambeau Field.

After the game, Rodgers was asked about if he would play against their NFC North rivals.

Rodgers is the face of the franchise and any time missed would be a devastating outcome for the Packers.

Allison completed a terrific reception on Rodgers' first touchdown pass, hauling in the ideal throw in the corner of the end zone with Kyle Fuller trailing in coverage. It equaled the rally from down 20-0 in Week 13 of 2015 at Detroit - the Hail Mary game.

"It's hard (to put into words)", Rodgers told NBC after the game. He was limited to seven games in 2017 because of a collarbone injury.

"We were running, gunning, we just started feeling, you know, a little comfortable too much, got a little too complacent", linebacker Danny Trevathan said.

"I had an opportunity and I just needed to make a play", Fuller said.

McCarthy said he was prepared to go with Kizer to start the second half until getting the word from the team doctor in the tunnel.

Bears: The Bears played a near-perfect first half which gave them a chance to win the game, however, it was not to be as multiple errors and a dropped interception cost the Bears late.

The Davante Adams drive - a 51-yard catch and run followed by a 12-yard touchdown catch - made it 20-17. Trubisky completed 4 of 4 passes for 54 yards on the drive.

Bears: Host the Seattle Seahawks next Monday.
