Chelsea must remain focused after international break Maurizio Sarri

While promoted Cardiff are yet to win this season, Sarri said they will provide a tough test. Obviously, in your first season in a new club it's always hard and I wasn't expecting him to leave, but AC Milan are getting a great player.

New signing Jorginho is now playing as Chelsea's deepest midfielder with Kante playing a little further forward in Sarri's system, which has helped the Blues start with a ideal four wins from four games in the league.

"I think Chelsea changed a lot", Makelele told reporters.

"I think he has the capacity to make history for Chelsea again".

"At the moment I can answer City or Liverpool".

Both Spanish giants were reported to have expressed an interest in signing the winger, but the player himself has claimed that he never wanted to leave Stamford Bridge.

The veteran manager spoke to Chelsea in the summer and asked to be kept in contact over Abraham, but the England striker moved to Aston Villa on loan last month for the rest of the season.

The Italian has won four out of four, and his side welcome Premier league new-boys Cardiff City to Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

"We need another step to be at the same level".

The Spaniard will be rested following his worldwide retirement, and appears one of the most likely City players to start in Kevin De Bruyne's absence. "I think this season is too soon, but I hope not", he said. So I know that the matches after the break are very, very hard.

"We play against a very physical team, if we want to gain points we need a very good performance".

The Spaniard has bagged three goals in four games under Sarri, and is looking like Chelsea's most risky player. "It is just down to me working hard in training, I don't know whether I am going to play or not play but for me it stays the same, I still train well and do everything the right way in case I do play".

Sarri made it clear upon his arrival at Chelsea that a new captain would be elected to replace Cahill.
