Cleveland Browns lose again after Zane Gonzalez misses crucial kicks

He replaces Zane Gonzalez, who missed two field goals and two extra points in the Week 2, 3-point loss to the New Orleans Saints.

The other Zane Gonzalez, who held NCAA's FBS records for career field goals made (96) and points by a kicker (494) when he left Arizona State after the 2016 season, admittedly cost the Browns a win.

"Gonzalez has been kicking with a groin injury that required an MRI on Monday, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter". Gonzalez never appeared on the team's injury report and it is unclear if Gonzalez kept the injury to himself. "Browns could reach an injury settlement with him or put him on waivers, injured". It can't be understated enough that they took Pittsburgh - a team popularly viewed to have the same Super Bowl aspirations as New Orleans - down to the wire, only to tragically shank a would-be game-winning field goal.

Joseph spent training camp with the Miami Dolphins and converted his three preseason field-goal attempts, but the team released him after he failed to beat Jason Sanders for the kicker job. And for Gonzalez, it's likely to get worse before it gets better. Then he threw a beauty of a touchdown pass on fourth down to rookie Antonio Callaway.

Joseph's first game action will take place on Thursday night when the Browns host the New York Jets at FirstEnergy Stadium. Whether or not there will be a new kicker in town will remain to be seen.
