The Reds boss gave the latest on Roberto Firmino after the South American striker was forced off during the 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Wembely after being poked in to the eye by Jan Vertonghen in the second half.

The manner of Liverpool's progress to the final, sweeping aside Manchester City in the last eight and Roma in the semis, and rattling in the goals, earned them plenty of plaudits.

Mbappe may well still miss PSG's trip to Rennes on September 23 but could return at home against Reims three days later, but Savanier will still have to serve at least one more game than Mbappe because of his suspended sentence. "We'll see the full package, the football package, and we have to cope with that". We tried to give Divock and Dom a bit of practice [for the U23s]; they used it, they scored, but it looks like both of them will not be available for tomorrow. Liverpool's start to this season has raised hopes of a genuine Premier League title challenge, with Klopp overseeing five wins out of five.

Tuchel said he is "grateful" to have been part of such an experience, one that has added to his understanding of what to expect from Klopp's team this time around.

Mohamed Salah is upbeat about Liverpool's chances to finish the season as Uefa Champions League and English Premier League winners.

"I really thought it was a smart decision of PSG to sign Tuchel", said Klopp.

Liverpool kick off their Group C campaign with a mouthwatering clash against the Parisians at Anfield and the hosts will be confident of getting a result having made it all the way to last season's final.

Given how the Brazil forward can be targeted by opponents, Klopp understands why he might go down too easily.

"He got rested at the weekend, so he'll be 100 per cent fresh. We only want to win the game". "It's good but we want it better for the club and the people and that is what we really try to do". "But, on the other side, it's quite hard to make a preparation because they have never played against us".
