Second Look At Joaquin Phoenix's JOKER Is More Joker-y

Pictures' Joker, starring Oscar nominee Joaquin Phoenix in the title role, alongside Oscar victor Robert De Niro, and directed, produced and co-written by Oscar nominee Todd Phillips.

We'll be sure to get more footage of Phoenix's Joker as filming continues on the project, and with it, hopefully some answers to boot. Now thanks to a recent tweet we may see what the actor would look like when he's clowning around.

The brief video clip involves a slow zoom in to Phoenix as Arthur Fleck, his protagonist's pre-Joker form, who's described in the official Warner Bros. plot synopsis as "a man disregarded by society". It shows Phoenix in costume looking somewhat normal under flashing clown images - until the video cuts to him in full face makeup sporting a wicked grin. But it's a memorable announcement (set to The Guess Who's "Laughing") to preview the tone and look of this movie.

His Joker look is more towards the usual clown look instead of the slightly decaying air given off by Heath Ledger's version.

The movie is now being filmed in NYC in Harlem, which is doubling for Gotham City set in the 1980s and Amusement Mile.

DC Films is set to release the still-untitled Joker origin film on October 4, 2019. In it, Phoenix's character Arthur Fleck seems to have colored his long hair green. Todd Phillips is directing the standalone piece, which is said to be separate from the DC Extended Universe in an effort to create new and unique storylines to expand the canon.
