UEFA Europa League Report: Arsenal v Vorskla 20 September 2018

Unai Emery has offered an update on Lucas Torreira after the midfielder picked-up a knee injury during Arsenal's Europa League win over Vorskla on Thursday night.

The Gunners raced four goals ahead in Thursday evening's Group E clash at the Emirates Stadium through a Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang brace and goals from Mesut Ozil and Danny Welbeck.

The late strikes also means that Arsenal are yet to keep a clean sheet in any of Emery's first five games. "When you are 4-0 up you want to continue to be competitive and to score more goals not concede like today".

"Our disappointment today is the two goals conceded", the Arsenal manager told reporters. He soldiered on after receiving some treatment but Emery made a decision to take him off shortly after we scored the third goal in the 57th minute.

'I think the two goals at the end, we were not concentrated enough, but at the end of the day we played a good game'.

"Our challenge is to be competitive for 90 minutes in each match, and it's one thing to improve".

"I think the first 60 minutes were good, with us imposing our ideas against them and also, little by little in the match, winning battles on the pitch to be near to scoring", said the former Sevilla boss, who celebrated his 32nd win in the Europa League.

Emery said he is hopeful Torreira will be fit to face Everton in the Premier League on Sunday, and said the midfielder is improving with every game.

Smith Rowe entered proceedings on the 70-minute mark to replace Alex Iwobi against Vorskla in the Europa League.

Leno revealed Emery has not come to a specific arrangement with his goalkeepers over who will play in which matches, and added that he has a good working relationship with Cech.

"But Torreira surely has to come in now and he has to play".
