Media mogul Rupert Murdoch will retain ownership of Fox, the new spin-off company that includes the cable news network.

At New Fox, Hicks will succeed two executives who oversaw 21st Century Fox's communications when Fox News was beset by multiple sexual harassment allegations, including against its co-founder Roger Ailes and top star Bill O'Reilly.

Mr Shine resigned from Fox News a year ago as the network's handling of sexual misconduct scandals came under scrutiny, though Mr Shine himself was not accused of any harassment. And for the better part of a year, former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci was the co-host of Fox Business Network's "Wall Street Week", which has since been rebranded "Maria Baritromo's Wall Street".

"She is as smart and thoughtful as they come, a truly great person", Trump said in a statement after her White House resignation, adding: "I am sure we will work together again in the future".

In July, Disney outbid Comcast Corp with a $71.3 billion offer to buy some assets from Fox.

Hicks will report to Viet Dinh, Fox Chief Legal and Policy Officer, and will be based in Los Angeles. So happy for my friend. Fox also announced on Monday that Danny O'Brien, former executive vice president and head of government relations for GE Transportation, will join the company in that same role. O'Brien has previously been chief of staff to three Democratic senators: Joe Biden (Del.), Robert Menendez (N.J.) and Robert Torricelli (N.J.).
