Designed by Oscar victor Colleen Atwood, the fight-ready Batwoman costume features a winged cape, a red bat symbol across the chest, a utility belt, and, most striking of all, a red wig emerging from the traditional cowl. The Australian actress will make her debut as Batwoman in the The CW's highly-anticipated Arrowverse, which will kick off December 9.
The first image of Rose in full costume is below, and she looks, well, pretty damn great and very comics-accurate.
A pilot for that series will be filmed after the "crossover event".
Rose was announced as the new Batwoman in August to both celebration and some social media backlash. "But don't call her a hero yet".
Batwoman, also known as Kate Kane, will also be getting her own show in 2019. Critics hailed the casting as "perfect", and Rose described the role as a "childhood dream".
But soon, Rose was slammed by trolls who said she was "not gay enough" because she has identified as gender-fluid, and that she was not Jewish (Kane is a Jewish character). I came out at 12?
The Kate Kane iteration of the character, which Rose will play, is a lesbian who professes the Jewish faith and is, in the comic books at least, romantically involved with Gotham City detective Renee Montoya.
The "Elseworlds" crossover kicks off Sunday, December 9 on "The Flash".
