Scarlett Johansson Reportedly Getting Big Paycheck For Black Widow Movie

While many continue to protest for equal compensation, Johansson is reportedly receiving $15 million for Marvel's new standalone Black Widow movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The report adds that Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth received a similar fee for their appearances in Captain America and Thor respectively and for their roles in Avengers: Infinity War.

The Avengers 4 has a May 3, 2019 release directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and stars Robert Downey Jr., Josh Brolin, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Karen Gillan, Bradley Cooper, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Sebastian Stan, Chadwick Boseman, Don Cheadle, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright and Brie Larson.

Johansson has appeared in Marvel films as Black Widow six times, but "Black Widow" will be her first standalone film as the character. The Marvel Cinematic Universe films are now 10 years in, dating back to the release of "Iron Man" in 2008.

Marvel Studios is notorious for keeping plot details tightly under wraps, as the Disney-owned studio did with the highly secretive Avengers: Infinity War, which integrated anti-spoiler messages into its promotional campaign. Black Panther was appreciated for is political and social undertones, which was seen as a welcome addition to the largely lightweight Marvel Cinematic Universe. It was an emotional day to say the least.

Apparently, Avengers 4 will be the last film of Steve Rogers as Captain America and this news has disappointed many fans of the superhero.
