White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow on Sunday played down the US stock market drop as a normal correction and said President Donald Trump had some concern the Federal Reserve may be raising interest rates too fast but respected its independence.
Thomas explained Trump was a "challenge to paint", because "even though he tans, he's a fair - has a fair complexion and no deep recesses". Thomas has done similar works of art in the past featuring former Democrat presidents playing pool and another of Republican presidents playing poker in 2008. Ronald Reagan, Gerald Ford, Teddy Roosevelt, and both Bushes are also laughing and drinking.
The painting, called "The Republican Club", is by Andy Thomas, who reacted to seeing his painting on the White House wall in a Facebook post.
Thomas told The Daily Beast that Trump had called him to say how much he liked the painting.
Most shocking of all is that although the painting oozes "old boys' club" vibes, Thomas points out that it also contains a "subtle feminist message".
"As I was doing the painting, I was thinking that these guys are kind of intimidating in a way", he was quoted as saying in the post.
Trump, however, seems to be sporting a soda, as he does not drink. "That's the kind of woman that will be our first woman president; she'll walk right up to that table".
A leading Republican critic of President Donald Trump slammed the suggestion that the US could resume separating migrant and refugee families at the USA border, saying the policy is 'simply. un-American'.
"I think the background is very positive for the stock market and I think, as I said, corrections come and go and people should. stay very calm over these things, they are quite normal", Kudlow told the "Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace" program, adding that Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping will likely meet at Argentina's G20 summit in November.
Trump was "very complimentary", Thomas said.
