The release clause that could see Neymar leave PSG

UEFA Champions League Group CWhat's the rumour?

The Brazilian superstar left Barcelona for Paris in the summer of 2017, a move that shocked the Catalan giants.

In case you didn't know.

Cardoner's comments correspond with what sources told ESPN FC on Thursday that the club have not talked about the possibility of Neymar coming back, which means they have neither shut the door on a possible return nor are they encouraging one.

The 26-year-old forward joined PSG in the summer of 2017 for a fee of £198m and he has certainly not disappointed in the French capital.

The Brazil worldwide has been linked with a sensational return to La Liga giants Barcelona, where he enjoyed a very successful four years at the club between 2013 and 2017.

Yet, according to Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, Neymar has an agreement with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi to leave the Parc Des Princes for £193m next summer.

The report reads, "The likes of [Lionel] Messi were consulted on how they [would] feel if the Brazilian were to come back at the end of the season now it's a strong possibility".

But the emergence of Kylian Mbappe as a global icon has handed him the same problem at PSG and Neymar has reportedly decided he'd be happier back at Barcelona.

Especially as Mundo report that club president Josep Maria Bartomeu has already talked to key Barcelona players in the dressing room about his return. Neymar has had quite a few disagreements with players and management ever since his move to France and a return to Barcelona while he is still at his peak makes sense for all parties involved.
