Following a meeting on Saturday in Paris, US President Donald Trump and French leader Emmanuel Macron agreed that the Saudi authorities needed to shed full light on Khashoggi's murder, a French presidency source said.
A Democratic lawmaker at the US House of Representatives is reportedly planning to introduce a bill that bans Saudi Arabia from acquiring nuclear weapons in retaliation for the regime's murder of dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi. They killed you and chopped up your body, depriving me and your family of conducting your funeral prayer and burying you in Madinah as wished. Later, Saudi Arabia admitted Khashoggi was killed in a premeditated murder, but that to killing was an unplanned "rogue operation".
On hearing the news earlier this week that Khashoggi was likely dissolved in acid, his fiancee Hatice Cengiz took to Twitter on Thursday to express her dismay.
That discovery, made two weeks after the Saudi journalist's demise, reportedly led the authorities to conclude that Khashoggi's dead body was dissolved in acid in one of the rooms at the consul's residence.
"We gave the tapes".
However, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has accused the "highest levels" of the Saudi government of ordering the hit, while some officials have pointed the finger at the all-powerful Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Erdogan said: "They also listened to the conversations and they know".
Some were members of a death outfit known as the Tiger Squad, a team of assassins with close ties to MBS that is used to muzzle dissenters, MEE discovered. Yet some of those implicated in the killing are close to the crown prince, including a member of the prince's entourage on foreign trips who was seen at the consulate before Khashoggi's slaying.
Khashoggi went missing on October 2 after entering the consulate to obtain documents for marriage procedures. President Donald Trump has reiterated he does not want to jeopardise money coming into the U.S. from Saudi Arabia. "They know for certain who among the 15 is the killer or are the killers", he said.
The killers of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi poured his remains down the drain after dissolving him in acid, a Turkish newspaper reported Saturday.
