Joe Gomez Fractures Leg, Jurgen Klopp Critical Of Tackles


Gomez suffered a fractured leg in Liverpool's 3-1 win at Burnley on Wednesday night, following a heavy challenge by Ben Mee.

Sadio Mane is a doubt for the visitors, too, but Andy Robertson and Georginio Wijnaldum are back.

Meanwhile, Liverpool FC are now preparing for their Premier League clash against Bournemouth on Saturday lunchtime as they look to keep up the pressure on Manchester City at the top of the table. Alberto Moreno did fill-in well at left-back as did James Milner when Klopp made a tactical adjustment to become more attacking. Sadio Mane though, will not feature against Bournemouth, with Jurgen Klopp highlighting the fact that the attacker is unfit and still needs some rehabilitation.

Then on Tuesday, Liverpool host Napoli in the Champions League requiring a win by two clear goals to progress to the last-16 of the competition.

Jurgen Klopp's side had to do it the hard away against Burnley on Wednesday as they scored thrice in the second half to come from behind and pick up their 12 win of the season that kept them just two points behind Manchester City.

The back four should be similar to how Liverpool finished against Burnley. In his absence, Joel Matip should retain his place alongside van Dijk, with Trent Alexander-Arnold being deployed on the right.

Naby Keita should be included once more after he played his best game in a Liverpool shirt against Burnley. Georginio Wijnaldum was sat out in midweek and he should return to the starting XI.

Jefferson Lerma has added some much-needed steel in Eddie Howe's midfield this season since arriving for a club record fee of £25m in the summer, with the Colombian needing to produce another solid display against Liverpool's midfield.
