KY police department mourns loss of Krispy Kreme doughnut truck

The police department wrote on social media, "no words", with a crying emoji as officers mourned the loss of the doughnuts during the fire.

WKYT-TV reports no one was injured when the Krispy Kreme driver stopped after noticing smoke in the cab of his truck following a delivery in Morehead.

Some Kentucky police officers closed out 2018 with a sobering sight after they were called to a fire that destroyed a truckload of ready-to-eat donuts.

Nobody was hurt in the fire, but all the doughnuts in the back of the truck were lost.

The Madison Police Department is getting in on a now-international law enforcement fascination with a pastry incident in Lexington, Kentucky.

Their post gained mounds of online attention, and Krispy Kreme has kindly offered to send more doughnuts in the officers' direction.

Police are still investigating the cause of the fire.
