Chelsea remain desperate to convince Hudson-Odoi to stay and Maurizio Sarri's decision to start him against Tottenham in the Carabao Cup semifinal first leg on Tuesday was part of that charm offensive.

Sarri said: "Odoi in the last week has been very normal".

Following Bayern's fourth bid of £35million, which is believed to be Chelsea's asking price, Salihamidzic has lauded the winger and confirmed the club have a "great interest" in recruiting him.

"He is an English player, he is very young and I think he has a very good future here; with the England team and with Chelsea".

He's regarded as Chelsea's brightest young talent - and with that title, it's unsurprising that another team is trying to land him this month - even if it is Bayern Munich.

Ahead of his side's meeting with Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday, the 18-year-old winger made it clear that he and his teammates were fully focused on getting a result to take the advantage to Stamford Bridge.

'If I have something to announce, I'll do so, ' Salihamidzic said on Wednesday at the club's winter training camp in Qatar, after confirming the signing of Benjamin Pavard for next season.

The Bavarians' commitment to signing the 18-year-old has played a big part in the move.

The report indicates that Hudson-Odoi's representatives have already held talks with Juve, though the Wandsworth-born ace would prefer to join the German champions if he is given the choice.

"If I was his agent, I'd be sitting down with him and saying be patient, stay at Chelsea".

"I know only that for me he is a very important player".

Former Arsenal midfielder Merson, who is a self-confessed Chelsea FC supporter, offered Hudson-Odoi with some advice about his future at Stamford Bridge.
