Fabregas completes move from Chelsea to Monaco

Monaco have completed the signing of Cesc Fabregas from Chelsea, as announced by the Ligue 1 club.

The 31-year-old signed a three-and-a-half-year-deal with the French club.

Fabregas has enjoyed plenty of success at worldwide level too, winning the World Cup and two European championships with the Spain.

Cesc Fabregas has left Chelsea to join Monaco in a £10million deal. Have your say in the comment section below.

"Cesc Fabregas has today completed a permanent transfer to Monaco", Chelsea said on their website as Monaco confirmed he had signed with them until June, 2022.

Fabregas described the move as "a new project", calling it a "great honour".

"Michy? I know him, we rubbed shoulders with Belgium, he is a player who can be interesting", Henry said.

Fabregas played 198 times for Chelsea and also won the FA Cup and League Cup during his time at the club.

Key to the move was the fact that Monaco are now coached by Fabregas' former Gunners teammate Henry, with whom he won the Premier League in 2004.

Fabregas will wear the number 44 jersey during his time with the former Ligue 1 champions.

Fabregas was previously Jorginho's deputy in the deepest midfield position, with the World Cup victor being the only other central player in our squad capable of dictating the play from that area of the pitch. "I am very excited", he added.

Current Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is another who changed Fabregas, asking him to become a regista and dictate play from deep areas.

TUKO.co.ke earlier reported that Chelsea were not to sell Spanish midfielder Fabregas until they buy a good replacement for the ex-Arsenal captain.
