National Basketball Association trade deadline: Bucks acquire Nikola Mirotic from Pelicans

A report says the Milwaukee Bucks will be getting a key member of the New Orleans Pelicans. Maker is still coming to Detroit, but Johnson is on his way to New Orleans, per National Basketball Association insider Kevin Smith.

The Milwaukee Bucks have acquired Nikola Mirotic from the New Orleans Pelicans, according to ESPN's Zach Lowe and Adrian Wojnarowski.

After all, it looks like the Montenegrin/Spanish forward is joining Giannis Antetokounmpo in the Bucks, while the trade will also include Pistons and send multiple second-road picks to the Pelicans for Mirotic, per the same reports. The Pelicans will also receive four second round picks form the Bucks with two of them coming from the Washington Wizards in 2020 and 2021.

It's an ambitious move by the Bucks, which sit atop the Eastern Conference with the best record in the National Basketball Association.

Mirotic has averaged 16.7 points and a career-best 6.8 rebounds per game this season while shooting 36 per cent from three-point range on just over seven attempts per game.

The Milwaukee Bucks are making their push. With the trade deadline just hours away, the Bucks have decided to make a move that they believe will help them reach this lofty goal.
