He turns 27 in May.

Kanter is averaging 14.0 points, 10.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists per game.

With Kanter and Wesley Matthews gone via buyout, the Knicks held onto center DeAndre Jordan.

The Knicks acquired Kanter in September of 2017 as part of the trade that sent Carmelo Anthony to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

If, for whatever reason, the Knicks kept Kanter, he likely would have continued the post-game rants through season's end. "Because after all this [Porzingis] trade and everything that the fans still want me to go out there and play".

According to ESPN's Ian Begley, one team that is expected to pursue Kanter is the Boston Celtics, who cleared up a roster spot today by releasing Jabari Bird.

Now, the Knicks can move ahead and focus on developing Kornet and, most importantly, Robinson, their 2018 second-round pick.

In the case of Matthews, it did not take long for the Pacers to acquire the 6-foot-5 shooting guard after he was waived by the Knicks. He has been vocal recently about frustrations with the Knicks organization and the lack of playing time he has been receiving.

That period of time has come and gone, and it's safe to say there were a number of deals that got NBA Twitter fired up. The club also received interest in recent days for big man Noah Vonleh, sources said. Additionally, Kanter will become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

The Knicks also chose to keep Jordan, despite suggestions that the veteran would be bought out. Porzingis is gone. The Knicks opened up some $70 million in cap space for this summer.
