If you're wondering why Ariana Grande tweeted the word "trash" while Cardi B was accepting her award at the Grammys, we have your answer.

Following her response, one replied saying "she's trash tho fr", and Ariana responding, clarifying her intentions; "she's not at all and that's not what i meant and u know that".

"You, husband, thank you", Cardi said to Offset.

The pop star, who won best pop vocal album for "Sweetener" earlier in the evening, also liked a few tweets that signified her true feelings about the award. He, tragically, passed away later in the year.

Ariana also tweeted and deleted "literal bulls-t" a minute later.

After performing with Bruno Mars at last year's show, the Bronx rapper returned to deliver her own show-stopping set at Sunday's show. "Rest in peace!" she said in a video posted to Instagram.

This is the singer's first ever Grammy Award win.

She thanked him in her acceptance speech, as well as their seven-month-old daughter, Kulture.

Many fans noticed Grande's reaction before she deleted the tweets and most assumed that her harsh words were directed towards Miller's loss, rather than Cardi's win.

Cardi B became a fan favorite on the back of her raw, raunchy public persona and willingness to be completely real and honest, the traits she brought to the Grammys stage tonight - both in her villainous performance and her emotional acceptance speech for Best Rap Album for her debut, Invasion Of Privacy.

In a not so typical speech, she joked her nerves were so bad "maybe I need to start smoking w**d".
