Charlotte Russe started in San Diego in 1975. The store had 512 locations in the US and Puerto Rico, and employed 8,700 at the time of its bankruptcy filing.

Online, the company is advertising its going out of business sale. Gap, JCPenney, and Victoria's Secret also announced more than 300 store closures last week.
