Fox News host Tucker Carlson reacts to lewd recordings

A national women's advocacy group on Monday called on Fox News to fire host Tucker Carlson "immediately" for what it called "perverted" and "horrifying" comments he made on a radio show about a decade ago.

Carlson, who was hired by Fox News in 2009, reportedly spent about an hour a week calling in to the Bubba the Love Sponge Show, a popular radio program based in Tampa, according to Media Matters.

Media Matters revealed in audio recordings they unearthed that Carlson over a five year period (2006 - 2011) repeatedly made extremely misogynistic remarks and grotesquely attacked about a half-dozen women by name.

"The reason we released this is precisely because the things you say on your Fox News show echo the misogyny displayed in those clips".

He did not "express the usual ritual contrition" but publicised his show and asked his opponents to come on as guests. "Anyone who disagrees with my views is welcome to come on and explain why". In 2011, Jeffs was convicted of child sexual assault and sentenced to life in prison. "I mean it's nothing they did, you know?"

He described Hillary Clinton as "anti-penis" and said "you look at Hillary and you know in your heart that if she could castrate you, she would".

He went on to say that Jeffs is "not accused of touching anybody; he is accused of facilitating a marriage between a 16-year-old girl and a 27-year-old man". You know, she didn't. These are weird and unpopular and he has a different lifestyle than other people find creepy.

Rightwing talkbag Tucker Carlson has spent his long career - and he's far older than his "preppie villain in a National Lampoon's comedy" vibe suggests - making shocking and some might say bad comments, always without serious repercussions.

"I am not defending underage marriage at all".

"Women hate you when they do you wrong and you put up with it", he said. You just need to be quiet and kind of do what you're told and lighten up a little bit. Fox News will be holding an event this week focused on wooing advertisers. Yeah, you said it. In response, the shock jock asks Carlson if he was "physically capable" of enduring such unwanted advances or "do you take your hat off to this kid?"

I mean I'm talking early teens, illegal young women for older men to marry and Carlson defended it so there's nothing wrong with it. He didn't - Warren Jeffs didn't marry underaged girls, actually. "I don't get that". One: Is this guy one of the top 10 most risky people in America?
