"The Wendy Williams Show" host had been pictured lately without her wedding ring, but had previously fended off reports of marital turmoil.
Wendy Williams filed for divorce following reports of Kevin fathering a child with his decade long mistress. In addition to requesting that Williams and Hunter's marriage be dissolved, the filing states, "There exists irreconcilable differences between the parties, which have caused the breakdown of the marriage for a period of six (6) months and which make it appear that the marriage should be dissolved as there is no reasonable prospect of reconciliation". "If he was in love, if she was just as successful at what she does as I am in my career, if she had his baby", she continued, she would leave.
The couple have one son.
"I want to shout out to my husband", she said.
Wendy said only Kevin knew what she was doing. She reiterated that message on her talk show, in the return episode following Williams shocking two-month hiatus.

But the 56-year old remained stone faced saying that her marriage was as strong as its ever been. "And don't ask me about mine until you see this gone", she said.
In an update, it was noted on today's edition of The Wendy Williams Show that Banks canceled her appearance because she had a family emergency. "And it ain't going anywhere, not in this lifetime".

After 21-years of marriage and one child together, Kevin Hunter Jr. age 18, made choosing to leave her husband hard for Williams.
