Boy thrown from Mall of America balcony still hospitalized

A 24-year-old suspect was arrested in connection with the child's fall, and police said he either threw or pushed him off a balcony. What a monster to grab an innocent child and do such a frightful thing!

"I just hope that little guy turns out OK", witness Michael Baumann told local TV station ABC 5. You have no idea what they have been through and we are asking for everyone to respect their wishes.

"As a mother of two young boys, I am horrified that this occurred and my heart aches for this family". It was started by friends of the family after Landen's cousin April Hoffmann, posted an Instagram tribute.

Potts said on Saturday there were "a lot of witnesses that were helpful" in the incident Friday.

"We feel confident in saying that the suspect threw the child off of the third floor, but as to why he did that is still something we're looking into and trying to figure out", Potts said. A 24-year-old man is in custody facing an attempted murder charge.

'She was screaming "Everyone pray, everyone pray. Oh my God, my baby, someone threw him over the edge".

The incident happened about 10:15 a.m.in the southeast corner of the mall. In that incident, he got into a physical scuffle with the manager of the restaurant, sending panicked diners fleeing, according to court records that also note Aranda at that point had been banned from Mall of America property through early July 2016.

"'Very caring, very family-focused, deeply spiritual, very compassionate, extremely generous of their time, their talent and their resource", he said of the boy's family.

The family posted about the bad incident on social media, and a GoFundMe was started to raise money for the family during this horrific time of need.

The post, which appears to have been created by a family friend states, "Landen has a very long road to recovery ahead of him".

A 5-year-old boy who was seriously injured when he was thrown from a third-floor balcony at the Mall of America near Minneapolis remains hospitalized.

"The family doesn't know him and are completely clueless as to why this monster would target their family with this heinous act of violence".

Witnesses told police that the alleged attacker "took off running immediately after the incident".

Aranda, who lives in the Bloomington area, has a police record, including several arrests and convictions stemming from incidents at the Mall of America.

He was arrested and has since been charged with attempted homicide. Jail records don't list an attorney for him.
