Experience this all-new single-player Star Wars™ story from Respawn Entertainment and EA Star Wars on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC this holiday season, 15 November 2019. "Yes, absolutely. I think that that's absolutely on the horizon", she said.
"As [David Benioff and Dan Weiss] finish Game of Thrones, they're going to segue into Star Wars", said Kennedy.
What surprised people about Titanfall 2 wasn't the polished multiplayer mode, which is something you would expect from the creators of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare; rather, it was the perfectly paced and emotional single-player campaign that put the game over the top. Wood was listing the projects his studio was involved with, including various cartoons and new movie The Rise of Skywalker - but then let slip, "there's a LEGO Star Wars game we're working on". "So maybe this is just a demonstration of a change of strategy for EA".
Of course, we can't forget the cornerstone of any convention: the cosplay.
Hennig continued: "Respawn's game has the benefit of being largely developed before they were acquired". Co-founder Vince Zampella, being a member of EA's executive team, would have sway in protecting the creative direction of any game Respawn creates. He says that the game will focus on a smaller cast of characters (many of the characters we haven't been introduced to as of yet), with Asmussen likening to a "man vs wild story".
Part of why Fallen Order may be getting more favourable treatment is that EA has simply moved on from the days of Ragtag. Still, EA's executive team has seen some changes in the previous year, with Patrick Soderlund and Jade Raymond have both left. Laura Miele - former franchise general manager for Star Wars - is now in Soderlund's position as well, and Hennig explains that she's happy about these changes, and optimistic for what Respawn has planned.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is an action-adventure game set after Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith™. If you look at [the Indiana Jones series, Uncharted's primary inspiration], you don't really cut away from what Indy knows.
With the Star Wars license behind Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, EA likely doesn't need to worry about sales as that's going to be nearly a given.
