Sterling double helps Man City beat Palace and top table

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has declared that winning the Champions League was not his or the team's primary objective when he signed for the English club.

Former Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City star Michael Brown believes that if Sergio Aguero manages to play anywhere near to the level he managed to reach against Liverpool in January, the Lilywhites are going to have a tough evening tonight. Liverpool has four games remaining as it looks to win its first league title since 1990, and 19th in total.

According to the Mirror, Guardiola opted to watch Tigers Woods on the bus after City breeze past Crystal Palace 2-0 at Selhurst Park, instead of Liverpool game against Chelsea.

But Palace showed a flicker of attacking life soon afterwards, Milivojevic crossing and Christian Benteke heading down before City hacked clear.

There was no slipup from Liverpool this time, although Chelsea had its chances at 2-0 down, with Eden Hazard hitting the post and then mis-hitting a shot from close range straight at goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

Sterling said he was relaxed about the situation and added that City can't afford any slip-ups in their title race with Liverpool. Both forwards are in the hunt for the Golden Boot as the league's top scorer, and they struck at the start of the second half. The Senegal worldwide is only one goal behind Salah and Aguero in the scorers' standings.

Pep Guardiola said Manchester City's next three matches will go a long way to defining their season as they chase an unprecedented Quadruple.

I have a feeling he will be decisive in the matches against Spurs because as we know, it is big players who tend to step up and win big games!

"Selhurst Park is always hard, not just for the stadium itself but for the quality of the players they have".

Mata, at the time, was preparing for move away from Chelsea having fallen out of favour with Mourinho himself. Both of these players have managed to score a lot of goals and have made appearances in almost every single match. "We knew we had to be on it from the first minute".

But by keeping clean sheet in their home leg, if Spurs can find the net in Manchester, it would need City needing three goals to progress.

Are City capable to secure all major trophies this season? And that transition starts with a comeback hope at Etihad. "That doesn't mean we are not going to fight".

"It's what I felt right after the game and when I reviewed the game". Granted, they end the campaign against Huddersfield and Cardiff, however, they'll need to earn positive results against the aforementioned trio if they are to guarantee Champions League football via the league next season. When I got another chance to play, against Swindon Town in the [League] Cup, I wasn't in good shape. "Sorry guys, I'm a failure!" he said in an outburst laced with sarcasm.

"But we have the belief that we are going to fight".
