Marvel Avengers Video Game Trailer Destroys Golden Gate Bridge

The game will be an ever growing adventure with years of content planned. If Square Enix can capture half of the drama that Insomniac did, it'll be a strong campaign indeed.

While Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics is the primary studio, three others including Eidos-Montreal, Crystal Northwest and Nixxes Software will collaborate on the game.

It's A-Day, the day the Avengers are opening their West Coast headquarters, allowing them to protect peace and freedom from a nice sunny city. Unfortunately, the festivities are short-lived, as an explosion on the Golden Gate Bridge spurs the heroes into action.

The current Marvel's Avengers line-up seemingly consists of Captain America (who may or may not die/disappear), Thor, Iron Man, The Hulk and Black Widow. The premise is similar to the Civil War event in Marvel comics, or much more loosely the film Captain America: Civil War and its own fallout in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although, it was announced that it would not be a games-as-service and that it would not include loot boxes of any kind.

Five years pass, and the Avengers have disbanded, leaving the world unprotected from any evil forces that wish to wreak havoc upon it.

"It's about losing what matters to you most and fighting to get it back", Rosemann said of the game. Crystal Dynamics made it clear that this is their interpretation of these iconic heroes.

Daily Show comedian Roy Woods Jr. joked that the all-star cast from the movies would have been too pricey for the game to hire for the game.

The standard edition of Marvel's Avengers comes with the base game and beta access. More characters will be added post-release, all of which will be free to players. The best part? All of these extras will become available at no additional cost.
